Sixth Form Scholarships

Mount House offers a small number of scholarships each year to Sixth Form students who demonstrate strong academic ability as well as a commitment to the wider life of the school through the co-curricular programme, particularly sport and the creative and performing arts.

The student who is the subject of an award is required to work hard, to contribute positively to the life of the School, to be a credit to the School and to set a good example to other students. Scholars must adhere to the School’s required standards of conduct and progress.

Scholarships can either be honorary and come with no monetary value, or they can be worth up to a maximum of 20% of the annual fee. Mount House School has a limited budget for scholarships, and applications for monetary awards should be made between 1st January and 1st March on the year of entry.  Applications outside this window can only be considered if there are if funds still available.
Scholars will meet termly, as a group, with the Head, and will have a 1:1 review during the Lent Term each year.

In the unlikely event that a student does not live up to the expectations of our scholars, the School reserves the right to withdraw the scholarship.

If you would like to be considered for a scholarship, please email a copy of  a hand-written letter of application from the student, explaining why they believe they could be a Mount House scholar. This should be no more than one side of A4.

All applicants will be interviewed by the Head.
