Career:
Gerrard has spent his career up until now working in one school – Finchley Catholic High School – a school he also attended as a student. After graduating from King’s College London in Classics, Gerrard then went back to Finchley to work as a TA for one year, before completing his teacher training through the Schools Direct Programme; as they say the rest is history. Gerrard has taught Maths, Politics, History and Classics in his career, as well as running successful football teams. At Finchley he was Assistant Head for ten years, holding various roles such as Head of Curriculum, CPD and Catholic Life, but probably mostly remembered for his time as Head of Sixth from 2016-2022.
His wife is also a History teacher; she is currently looking after the three children at home, who are his pride and joy.
Personal Interests
Gerrard is keen sportsman and likes visiting exhibitions at museums. His favourite books are The Cicero Trilogy by Robert Harris and Hilary Mantel’s trilogy on Thomas Cromwell.
